Day 1: Start

Welcome to Europe Arrival and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, you will receive information for the start of your tour through the informational signs located at the hotel reception.

IMPORTANT:

  • Remember that hotel check-in is usually at 2:00 PM. If you need more time with the room, consider booking an additional night at the start of your tour.
  • IF YOU REQUESTED ADDITIONAL NIGHTS your reservation will be made upon arrival at the hotel, but the tour guide will typically not be available until the beginning of the included activities. At the reception, you will also find an informational sign with the phone number and working hours of our staff. YOUR TIME BEFORE THIS MOMENT IS THEREFORE FREE. The hotel staff will assist you with any information you may need.
  • OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES: During your trip, your guide may offer optional activities. If these activities are available in the Europamundo app or your “My Trip” link, we strongly recommend that, if you’re interested, you book them as early as possible to ensure availability. Waiting until the last minute often means losing the opportunity to participate (lack of tickets, bus space, etc.).

Note: The schedules you will find in this itinerary are approximate. The guide, depending on the situation and to improve the flow of the tour, may adjust the timings.


Day 2: Berlin

  • Berlin – At 8:00 AM (confirm the times on the signs at your hotel’s reception), we begin a panoramic tour with a local guide lasting approximately two and a half hours. We will have the chance to see the Museum Island, the TV tower, the commercial streets in the city center, the former cathedral destroyed in the World War, the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, and the city’s large parks. We will stop and visit the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial-Museum, two impressive sites that remind us of Germany’s difficult history in the last century. Free afternoon. Optionally, you can visit Potsdam with the Sanssouci Palace and Gardens, and Cecilienhof Palace.
    Note: Occasionally, the panoramic tour might take place the day before.

 


Day 3: Berlin – Dresden – Bamberg – Nuremberg

  • Total distance traveled: 540 km. Landscapes: Forests, hills, small towns along the route.
  • 07:30 AM – Berlin – departure.
  • 10:00 AM – Dresden – Arrival. This city is the pearl of the Elbe River, former residence of the Kings of Saxony. The immense palace reminds us of the glorious past of the city. Time to walk around.
  • 12:00 PM – Dresden – departure. We head south of Germany. Stop at a service area for lunch.
  • 04:15 PM – Bamberg – Arrival. A beautiful, lively city; don’t miss walking through “Little Venice.” Its picturesque canals and monumental heritage make this city one of the most beautiful in Germany. Time to walk around.
  • 05:30 PM – Bamberg – departure.
  • 06:30 PM – Nuremberg – Arrival. The second-largest city in Bavaria with its castle, walls, old university, and reminders of WWII and the Nazi era. This city was completely destroyed in WWII but has risen from its ashes. Time to stroll through its lively center. Accommodation.

Day 4: Nuremberg – Kloster Weltenburg – Dachau – Munich

  • Total distance traveled: 250 km Landscapes: Valleys, fertile plains, industrial cities along the Danube.
  • 08:00 AM – Nuremberg – Departure. Today’s stage brings us great surprises.
  • 09:45 AM – Kelheim – Arrival at this city by the Danube River. We embark (10:00 AM scheduled time) for a 40-minute cruise through the Danube Valley, in the “Danube Gorges” area. We arrive at Kloster Weltenburg, a beautiful Benedictine monastery founded in 1040. Time to visit.
  • 12:00 PM – Kloster Weltenburg – departure. We continue on small roads.
  • 01:30 PM – Dachau – Arrival. Time for lunch and then a visit to the Concentration Camp Museum on the outskirts of Munich. In this impressive place, we will remember the difficult historical period of Nazism. Time to explore the site.

In the early afternoon, we head to Munich where we will visit the impressive BMW WELT (BMW World) exhibition space, a multifunctional venue of the BMW group, the prestigious German car brand. We will also visit the park that houses the beautiful Olympic Stadium, where the famous 1972 Olympic Games were held. Afterward, free time in the historic center to stroll through Marienplatz, the heart of Munich, visit the picturesque Viktualienmarkt outdoor market, relax in the Englischer Garten, or enjoy a beer in one of its traditional beer halls.

Note: In winter or if the Danube River has too low a flow, the cruise may not operate. In this case, the segment will be done by road.
Note: During Oktoberfest, the hotel may be located near Munich.


Day 5: Munich – Fussen – Rothenburg – Frankfurt

  • Total distance traveled: 575 km. Landscapes: Very beautiful landscapes: Mountains, lakes, picturesque towns.
  • 07:30 AM – Munich – departure.
  • 09:30 AM – Fussen – Arrival. In this Bavarian town, nestled between mountains, we find the Neuschwanstein Castle. With our guide, we will walk to the Marien Bridge to enjoy the fantastic landscapes between the ravines. You can return to the bus in a horse-drawn carriage (not included).
  • 11:30 AM – Fussen. Departure. We travel toward the Rhine Valley. Stop at a highway service area for lunch.
  • 03:15 PM – Rothenburg – Arrival. For many, the most beautiful town in Germany, located on the Romantic Road. Its walls, its beautifully preserved medieval center. We include entry to the CHRISTMAS MUSEUM. Time to walk around.
  • 04:45 PM – Rothenburg – departure.
  • 07:15 PM – Frankfurt – Arrival. Before settling into the hotel, our guide will give you some free time near the Römerplatz, in the city center. Free time.

 


Day 6: Frankfurt · Cruise · Cochem · Cologne · Dortmund

  • Total distance traveled: 369 km.Scenery: Very beautiful landscapes following the valleys of the Rhine and Moselle; picturesque villages line the way.
  • 08:00 hrs. – Frankfurt – departure. Today we explore the Rhine Valley and the Moselle Valley. Two rivers full of history, surrounded by charming villages.
  • 09:00 hrs. – Rudesheim am Rhein: We meet the Rhine in this picturesque medieval town full of tourist and commercial life. After some time to stroll, we board for a Rhine Cruise lasting about two hours. We find ourselves in the most beautiful section of the river: fortresses, medieval villages, old churches, and vineyards on the hillsides. Arrival in St. Goar and continuation on small roads heading towards the Moselle Valley.
  • 12:15 hrs. – Cochem: Arrival and time for lunch. We are in one of the most beautiful towns in the valley, dominated by its imposing castle, which dates back over a thousand years.
  • 15:00 hrs. – Cochem – departure: We continue traveling along the Rhine.
  • 16:45 hrs. – Cologne – Arrival: Time to visit its impressive Gothic cathedral, which, at 154 meters tall, was the tallest building in the world until the end of the 19th century. You can also stroll along the Rhine River and through the lively city center.
  • 19:00 hrs – Cologne: Departure towards our hotel.
  • 20:15 hrs – Dortmund: Arrival and accommodation.

Day 7: Dortmund · Fairy Tale Route · Hannover

  • Today we will have a stage full of magic, recalling many of the fairy tales and movies of our childhood as we visit some towns that inspired the Brothers Grimm, which today form the Fairy Tale Route.
  • 08:00 hrs.- Dortmund, departure.
  • 10:15 hrs.- Trendelburg – Arrival at this picturesque walled village dominated by its large medieval castle. We visit the castle with its Rapunzel Tower (entrance included), where the princess’s long blonde braid still hangs.
  • 11:15 hrs- Trendelburg departure. We continue on small roads, crossing forests while imagining Hansel and Gretel.
  • 12:00 hrs- Hoxter. Arrival and time for lunch in this lively little town where the Corvey Abbey, a former 9th-century monastery, stands. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site (exterior stop for photos of its walls and inner courtyards).
  • 14:30 hrs- Hoxter- departure- We continue our route with a brief stop at POLLE to take exterior photos of the Cinderella Castle ruins.
  • 15:45 hrs.–Hamelin. We are in the town made famous by the story of The Pied Piper of Hamelin. We will enjoy remembering the Brothers Grimm’s tale and follow the trail of the rats. Time to stroll.
  • 17:30 hrs- Hamelin – departure.
  • 18:30 hrs. – Hannover – Arrival. A stroll through the center before heading to our hotel.

Note: On some dates, accommodation may be provided in Cologne or another nearby city. In that case, departure from Cologne on Thursday will be at 07:30 hrs.


Day 8: Hannover · Goslar · Quedlinburg · Berlin

  • 08:00 hrs Hannover · Departure.
  • 09:30 hrs Goslar: Arrival at one of the most beautiful towns in Germany, with its historic houses and market square. Time to stroll.
  • 11:15 hrs Goslar · Departure: We continue our route through one of the most beautiful areas of Germany.
  • 12:00 hrs Quedlinburg · Arrival: UNESCO declared this city a World Heritage site due to its fascinating historic center, which has remained almost unchanged for centuries with over 2100 half-timbered houses. The town hall and castle are also notable. Free time to stroll and have lunch.
  • 14:15 hrs Quedlinburg · Departure: We travel towards Germany’s capital. 17:00 hrs. Berlin · Arrival.

 


Day 9: Closure

  • After breakfast, our services will conclude, with the wish of having provided an unforgettable experience.

Note: Please remember that hotel check-out is usually at 10:00 hrs. In most cases, you can leave your luggage at the hotel reception at check-out time, so you can enjoy the city and pick it up later that day. If you need more time in your room, consider booking an additional night at the end of your tour.
